Job Fair on Friday in Albany. $7,500 sign-on bonus for drivers

Waste Management, one of the Capital Region’s major trash haulers, is holding a job fair to hire CDL truck drivers and diesel mechanics.

Applicants may be hired on the spot, with $7,500 sign-on bonuses for drivers and $5,000 bonuses and $2,500 tool allowances for drivers. The on-site hiring event will run 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 29, at 100 Boat St. in Albany.
The openings are for positions in Waste Management’s Eastern New York and Kingston offices.

Nationally, Waste Management is trying to fill more than 500 driver and technician job openings across the U.S. and Canada at 40 locations. On their last hiring day in March, they filled 300 positions.

Job seekers can go to www.wm.com/WMCareerDay to be scheduled for an onsite interview. For candidates unable to pre-register online, walk-in interviews will be held contingent on qualifications and manager availability. There is no dress code requirement for candidates. Appropriate COVID-19 protocols will be followed.
